February 6th, 2007

The most incredible sunrise I have ever seen. Julie woke me up at 6:20 and I just caught the last part of it.

As the inspiring sun gives rise to the new beginning for a new day, so to it was, 20 years ago today, the beginning of a new life... even more remarkable.

Happy 20th Birthday Betina!

Back to this morning, I have written extensively about the environment and the simple concept of integrating the home and the land using the strengths and attributes provided by the land.

"That the land, its undulations, it's size, it's geology, and it's setting, give focus and  shapes the opportunities that provide the blueprint for the built environment that rest, and lies on the land."

This morning was verification, and reward of that concept.

I have also posted a picture of a sculpture from Ron Wickersham. Ron was our concrete guy that did all the foundation, cellar, and slab work. For the past several years, Ron has been an artist with a studio in downtown Encinitas. Having a concrete sculpture looking over his work is very appropriate.
