Barrel Stave Furniture

Oak barrels used in winemaking have a relatively short lifespan, around 5 to 7 years. Let me introduce you to Michael Peterson, a cabinet maker/craftsman working out of Temecula. Michael takes old wine barrels and crafts exquisite pieces of custom furniture.

When you take a product at the end of its useable lifespan, and recycle it into a useful and beautiful object with a whole new lifespan, and add to that the coupling of uses such as a wine barrel now used as furniture in a wine cellar, it magical!  Thank you Michael! It's an honor to have your pieces in our cellar!

This is a wine bar with five barrel tops from Seguin Moreau Cooperage.  It holds are best large format bottles.

An Adirondack Chair, the redness is the part of the barrel that was in contact with the wine.
